Paradise Island
Today we went to Paradise Island. It was very relaxing and the girls absolutely loved it. It cost 15 pesos each for the boat ride there and then back again (~33cents) and 100 pesos to enter the beach (~2.25). Made for a cheap day. Here are a lot of photos about it.
This is the boat we took over. The poles along the side are bamboo runners. The boat ride was less than 5 minutes.
This is a man who just rode his boat back and forth and would skim the ocean of debris much like you do in a pool.
We tried some new juices. Reggie has a pineapple drink in a pineapple and the other drink is something called Pomelo which is very similar to a grapefruit only it isn't tart at all. Marcela really likes it.
These are some of the children of other teachers. It really is a blessing. The kids made a wall of sand (which you can see) and behind one of the kids is a big hole that they dug and then they filled it full of hermit crabs. Hours of entertainment.
Marcela playing in the sand. She kept pretty busy all day bossing the smaller kids around and generally acting like a know-it-all even though we know nothing here!
And last but not least is Harmony playing with a soda can. She had more fun with that can than she did with a lot of other toys that other parents brought. As a side note, the snorkeling was excellent!
