Invasion of the termites!!
Today has been quite the day. I know that all of you who read the blog remember the big purple rectangles on the wall where windows used to be! Well, there are two holes now which is slightly visible behind the guys in the picture below. We've been told they will put windows in the holes in the coming days. Well this morning a whole crew of people showed up to work on the house, 2 to clean the outside, 2 to break out the windows and 2 to fix the door.
The door that these two men are working on has been impossible because it won't open, so we have to kick it in. The landlord told us that she would have it fixed before we moved in but that didn't happen so we bugged her and she arranged to have it fixed. Well, they took the frame off and you can see that it was barely hanging on from all the termites living in it. And yes they were all alive and well, I know that the photos don't do it justice but they are all crawling around freaking out that their home was so damaged!
And just as a side note about the two men in the photo, the one working is actually the carpenter and the other man is his apprentice so basically the carpenter gets paid more and he stands around and tells the other kid what to do and I think he picked up the tool and started working just for the photo!! Funny to me. But the landlord is paying and as long as they get it done well, I don't care who does the work!
