Independence Days in Panama
The month of November is a very special month here in Panama. It is the month of many days of independence. It's funny, the curriculum that Reggie uses for school has a question that we disagree with the answer. The question is "What is the definition of independence day?" The answer in the book is The 4th of July. Well, here the answer is the month of November. Not really, but there are so many days and they celebrate them all. We have independence from Spain, from Columbia, flag day, the uprising of Los Santos, independence of the city of Colon. I think there are more.
There is a law here that a place of business must place a flag out in a visible location during the month. So this place is called Ciudad del Saber. They place a field of flags. So we decided to take photos of this field. Behind the girls you can see a road and across the road is the canal. The mountains you see in the background are on the other side of the canal. Behind Harmony you can see a tall concrete building and that is the building that houses the locks museum. That is the exact location of the Miraflores locks.
