In the Jungle

On Friday Reggie's class went on a hike through the jungle as an end of their rain forest unit.


We hiked on wet trails with decaying leaves, there is one section that is disgusting to walk through because the air is thick with fruit flies. The tree above it has dropped it's fruit and all the fruit is rotting on the ground. You can see the fuzzy fruit and as you walk through you can see the fruit flies rise up in clouds. It's kind of disgusting. The kids had a blast. They had to cross two rivers (only a few kids fell in and even then only to their knees) and then we ended and had a picnic near a small waterfall. We had a blast, I think the kids did too. Some of the kids had never ever done anything like this before. Dare I say it?! Too much TV!!!! All in all, it was a successful 3rd grade field trip for Mr. Miller!!!
