Christmas Carolers
Every year we have people that come by Christmas Caroling and begging for food or money. Some people live around here and some are the poor from the interior coming in to the city hoping to provide more for their family in a season where others are supposed to be generous. It's always been stressful and we find ourselves not knowing what to do so we often do nothing. We decided it was high time we change that. These boys are our first carolers of the season.
This year we decided that we would post a sign on our gate saying that we will pass out our gift on one day (probably the 22nd or 23rd) as opposed to whenever they come to sing. And this would be what we would pass out. (See photo below) It's a half kilo of rice, a 100g can of shredded beef, a vegetable broth cube, package of cookies or crackers and one piece of candy (not pictured) and we are going to include a tract as well.
I for one am really excited. Half of the problem is not knowing what to do so now that we've decided it's a little bit easier! PAC Awana's is helping to raise the money for these little packs. They will cost about one dollar for the entire bag of goodies! I'm really excited. Let us know if anyone else wants to go in on this too!!
