Outdoor Education 2013

Here are some highlights from his trip on OE.  Just one post this year.  He's already done all these things so he took fewer pictures.  But he also caught a bug and wasn't feeling as well  as in years past.  (He's still sick by the way!!)

Welcome to Corregidor!

They had a wonderful refreshing, almost cold sleep on the ground here.  He said it was lovely in so many ways.

He commented on how this was just shot to pieces during the war.  

This year they got to tour Corregidor at night.  It was the highlight of his trip.  He asked me what I thought this room might have been for seeing as how it had a lock on it.  I guessed prisoners but I was wrong.  It was for NURSES!!!  I guess they had to protect them from the men!  Makes me glad in so many ways to not have needed to be a nurse then.

 

Three things really jumped out at Reg while they did their ministry day.  1 is pictured above.  Dream braided and put up the hair of girl after girl after girl!  What a neat thing to do when you can't speak the same language.  She was incredibly patient!

Caleb just jumped right in and wrestled with all these boys!  He kept on tirelessly while they all attacked him!!  I think they all had fun! 

And the third was how DeAnn stepped in and took charge in the classroom (She's the one in the middle pictured above)  It helps that she speaks Tagalog but beyond that, she saw a need and filled that need.  It was neat to hear how each student did that in their own way!

He was also able to meet this wonderful man.  (Here he is cheesily taking a picture of himself when the group asked him to take a picture of them)  But he really felt like God placed him there for a reason so be an encouragement to both him and the students.  And do you know what his name is??

They let turtles go again this year.  It's something that Reggie loves to be able to do.  It's such a special treat!!  What a blessing to be able to see a few of the miracles that God does every day!!  

And one of those amazing miracles is the beauty of the setting sun over the ocean.  That as each day ends for us which beauty, somewhere on the other side of the world, a new day is beginning.  That God's mercies are new every morning means that His mercies are new EVERY MOMENT of EVERY DAY somewhere in the world.  And I'm so thankful for that.
