The Ferry

This is the Ocean Jet Ferry (as can be seen written hugely on the side) and we took this from the island of Cebu to the Island of Panglao for the second phase of our vacation!

This is the inside of the ferry where we spent 1.5 hours on the way there and 2 hours on the way back. The best part of it was the pirated movie they showed us. Remember when it was cool to say NOT? Well this is a huge NOT NOT NOT NOT! They showed the movie Taken. It's still in the theaters here so it was obviously a pirated copy (easy, cheap and plentiful). It was spoken in English but subtitled in Korean I think. We couldn't really understand it since the boat was so loud. But we spent the entire time on our first trip keeping the girls facing us and not the tv since the tv was huge and we were in row 3. I don't know if you've seen this movie but I have TWICE because they showed it on the return as well!!!!!!!!!!! It was very violent about a man getting back his daughter after she'd been abducted and sort of sold into prostitution. Just as a side note both Filipinos and at least the Koreans on this ferry didn't mind if their kids saw the movie. Most Filipinos (generalization of course so there are people who don't fit this mold) generally don't restrict their kids watching habits very much. It's more like they can watch what they want.
Enough about that. On the return trip we realized that we could go up top and spend the time on the obseration deck!!! Who knew??!!?!?! So I stayed below and tried not to watch the movie and watched the luggage and Reggie took the kids up top. They enjoyed it.
By the way, the second phase of our vacation was only 2 nights. We returned on Harmony's birthday and kids under 4 rode the ferry for free and since we bought the tickets before she turned 4 she got to travel free even though technically she was 4 on the return trip!
