Searching for Christopher Columbus

Every year Reggie has his third graders pretend they are Columbus and they try to find the new world around the play area. He dressed up like King Ferdinand of Spain this year. Unfortuantely, no pics of that. This year his kids didn't get into the fun as much as last year. They didn't dress up like explorers as much. But I think they still had a fun time.

The city of Colon (the Atlantic Ocean entrance to the canal) is the Spanish word for Columbus. Just an FYI that you probably didn't know. Columbus 'discovered' Panama also, so they say.
